The "Asemblea" Prayer Group

The Asemblea is a group within the Hispanic community made up of families that have brought a vital spiritual life to our church. This prayer group has been in existence for more than 30 years. It meets every Sunday from 5:00 -7: 00pm for charismatic prayer, reading of the word of God and fellowship. The Asemblea also takes a strong lead in many church activities such as the beautiful Drama of the Passion of the Christ. They conduct  Advent retreats, Lent retreats, retreats for women, retreats for men, conferences for servers, among others. It is a blessing to have a group like the Asemblea in our community where many people come together as a community.

The Legion of Mary

The Legion of Mary is an association of the Catholic faithful, founded in 1921 in Ireland, by Frank Duff. Later it would spread throughout the whole world.

The object of the Legion of Mary is the glory of God through the holiness of its members developed by prayer and active co-operation in Mary’s and the Church’s work. The unit of the Legion of Mary is called a praesidium, which holds a weekly meeting, where prayer is intermingled with reports and discussion. Persons who wish to join the Legion must apply for membership in a Praesidium. The Legion sees as its priority the spiritual and social welfare of each individual.

The Legion of Mary in our church is a small group of active members of our Hispanic community who meet on Mondays from 7:00 - 9:00 pm to pray the holy rosary and also plan the activities they do such as going to visit the sick and the elderly.
